Turkish Invasion: Cyprus appeals to UN Security Council over Varosha reopening The self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), backed by Turkey, announced on Tuesday that a small part of Varosha would come under civilian control and be open for potential resettlement.

UN nuclear watchdog inspects 2nd Iranian site, after standoff over access. Neither of the two sites were identified in the statement, but the agency said the suspected activities are thought to have taken place there back in 2003. Samples taken during the IAEA visits to both sites will be sent to labs and analyzed for traces of nuclear material. Tehran says it has never had a nuclear weapons program.

Israel to enter full-blown lockdown, shut schools & close most non-essential businesses starting September 18. The sweeping lockdown is set to take effect on September 18 at 6 a.m. local time, multiple Israeli media reported on Saturday. The Israeli cabinet is expected to approve the new stringent restrictions on the movement of people as well as on commerce as soon as on Sunday morning, Haaretz reported.

Iran's Rouhani: Talks possible if U.S. returns to 2015 nuclear deal. If the United States wants an agreement with Iran, it must first come back to Tehran's 2015 nuclear deal with six powers that Washington abandoned two years ago, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday.
